Thoughts on Blogging~What I Love about it!

I love a lot of blogs. I have learned so much from blogs and blogging myself. Made friends. Recorded things through the years that has now become little stored memories. I have been encouraged. I have been tested with character. I think blogging is an AMAZING tool.

I weeded out many social media things or shall I say screen things in the last few years. I currently hang out on youtube and when I am not breaking from blogging then I like to blog. I occasionally jump on Pinterest.

That is it. No Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or anything like this. I am not saying these things are wrong. I just can't do all of these and so I chose my favorite "screen time" outlets and the others just won in my case. They feed me, bless me, and usually inspire in most cases.

What kinds of blogs do I lean towards?

You can check my sidebar for places that inspire me. But I tend to lean toward blogs that are simple, gentle in nature, homemaking helpers, spiritual inspiring, daily lives of Christian women, motherhood, homeschooler ones, and Proverbs 31 and Titus 2 inspired blogs.

I have 2 top favorite blogs that even when I break from writing I tend to pop on occasionally because they INSPIRE. They do not tell me 5 Steps to this or that, make me feel I am never doing enough, or etc. I always leave with a smile.

Inspiration is what I look for in a blog.  Tomorrow I will share my dislikes of blogging in comparison to my Love for it.

What are your favorite things about blogs and blogging?

  2. I strive for that Proverbs 31/Titus 2 life. Strive and most times fall short. *smile* Living that way is certainly not the way of the world. I tend to look for bloggers that are like minded in that sense. Those kindred sprits encourage me. I also like simple blogs and I do read blogs about living a frugal life. Not the ones with thousands of followers and a know it all attitude, but the everyday person trying to be a good steward of their money and to get out of debt. One of my favorite things about blogging is the friendships made and the encouragement received.

    1. Oh yesss...simple frugal living blogs are so great.

  3. Yes to all!
    Chrissy, I agree with you.
I never had Facebook, and I quit Instagram and Twitter.
I just can't handle all that information in my head!!! LOL
I love blogs that are real and calming, helpful and inspiring.
    Like your blog! : )

  4. This is the very reason I loved you blog. Calming, spiritual, wise. All the good things in life.

  5. I too love blogging and reading other people's blogs. I feel like I have made friends online that have encouraged and inspired me. I hope that I have done the same for them. There are times when I do feel guilty though because I don't always have the energy to blog or even read and reply to my friends in blog land. At those times, you will find me watching youtube videos by other people that I find inspiring also. Be blessed my friend!

  6. Chrissy, I love and look for the very same thing in blogs that you have spoke of. So, glad you are back on here!

  7. I’m so glad to see you back! My blog is gone now, but I really wish I could blog about my marriage and the adoption of my stepkids. It’s all going down on 8/31/18! It would be so nice to have it as a story of us. But we have physical scrapbooks, and my fiancé is VERY worried about privacy since his kids were abused by their biological mother. I’m off of Facebook a lot, because there is a custody battle over the 4 year old daughter of my little cousin who was killed last year. His mother thinks she can just reach in and take her away from his widow. I submitted motorized testimony on her behalf, describing her as a wonderful and for mother. This 4 year old’s grandmother said that they should have never had her, her mother should have aborted her, and later that they should have placed her for adoption. I have some hard feelings towards my ex-MIL, but she never said such horrible things about my daughter. So now that whole side of the family hates me. More family hates me for marrying a man with “baggage” (still waiting on that 40 year old virgin).
I also wish I could show off my new house publicly on a blog. We have a lot of land and are practicing permaculture hopefully with a self watering system that begins and ends with fish ponds. But my fiancé is worried his ex will find it on google maps or satellite. I don’t think she’s smart enough to. Hope you update us soon.

  8. Hi Chrissy!
I've been on and off blogging to. Sometimes, I miss the good old days, when we didn't have internet, social media... But other times, I miss the blog world, so I keep coming back.
I believe that we can do it all, as long as we don't loose our day away, in the internet world.
    have a blessed weekend!

  9. Glad to see you back blogging again Chrissy! Your words are always a blessing and a joy to read. I enjoyed your videos too. I am in your camp with what kinds of blogs I like to read. If I see advertisements, I click away. I want simple, real people to share with, and be friends with. Blogging is a real blessing in our lives, even though we may never meet in person. Blessings to you sweet friend!
