I showed you all a while back my herb container garden. It is doing so well. It is time to harvest some. I chose to perserve them due to not cooking heavy meals at the moment and I had a lot that I didn't want to go to waste.
I have researched, studied, and read on methods of storing herbs. I have spent quite a bit of time.
I chose to freeze certain ones. I put up parlsey and lemon thyme. Normally, I would dry thyme but due to time and humid conditons in my area I chose to freeze it this time.
I did a method with ice trays for the parsley because they are a soft herb. Then for the thyme I rinsed and let dry well. I put them stem and all in a freezer bag. After a week you can gently run a rolling pin on the bag and collect the leaves easier and discard stems. Put leaves in a jar and store in a freezer.
